This final edition of HOPE Connect marks the close of an amazing school year, and as summer officially begins, we are all looking forward to a well-deserved break. In this issue, you will find inspiring student and community highlights alongside farewells to valued members of our community. We have also included essential notices as we prepare for the next academic year.
Whether you are transitioning out or continuing with us, this issue aims to leave you feeling inspired, prepared, and ready for your next exciting chapter. May your summer be filled with energy and inspiration!
We are incredibly proud of our Class of 2025!
During the ceremony, we heard a heartfelt speech from our school captains, Bethanee Seoung and Elijah Hodges; a moving reflection from our valedictorian, Natalie Yeap and we presented the Gwen Coventry Award to Robert Ridoutt and Gianna Ecklund. The Emily Smith Memorial Art Award was presented to an outstanding art student, Esther Suh, and we recognized two staff members for their exceptional service at HOPE; David Sundaram and Elizabeth Shin, with the Helen Blaxland Servant Leadership Award.
We welcome our class of 2025 to the Alumni community!
At the end of the year, we honor all our departing community from HOPE by recognizing, as our rising Alumni. At HOPE, an Alumni is anyone who has served, studied, or been a parent of a student at our school at any point in time.
We are incredibly grateful to have shared a part of life's journey with these families, students, and staff members. As you transition to your next endeavors, we wish you all the best and pray for a smooth path forward in whatever God calls you to do. We look forward to connecting with you again, whether here or wherever your journey takes you.

Seyhe Park, a rising Grade 12 student, is conducting an English camp with impact for Cambodia!
The Cambodia English Education Initiative (CEEI) is a high school-led project that organizes month-long English camps for children in rural Cambodian communities. To date, CEEI has successfully hosted two camps in Koh Oknha Tei Island and the Dail Community in Phnom Penh, with plans underway for a Summer camp from June 14th to July 12th, where Seyhe, alongside other students from local international schools, will be running this initiative.
CEEI's efforts were also recognized at Yale MUN Korea's Community Fair, where we partnered with South Korea's Global Unity Alliance, raising $500 in donations. The initiative continues to sustain its camp operations through generous donations from churches and other youth organizations.
We are proud of students like Seyhe who selflessly continue to make an impact beyond HOPE. If you would like to support the work of this student-led organization, please email sehye.park@students.hope.edu.kh. They are seeking additional volunteers and donations to expand their reach and bless even more communities.
It was fun to see our middle school students wrapping up the year with this event. See these exciting photos!

In the next few weeks, all enrolled students and families will receive important emails about getting ready for the new school year. These emails will cover key details like our Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) program, stationery lists, and the new morning starting time and timetable.
📧
Our mailing lists will be updated at the beginning of July, so there is nothing you need to do at the moment. If you need to update your email or contact information, please reach out to the Front Office for assistance.
💬
On July 1st, all HOPE Telegram Channels and Chats will be updated. If you are a student, staff member, or parent leaving HOPE, please make sure to download any photos, files, or links you want to keep before this date.
🏠
And for our homeschool-enrolled families, you will receive a re-enrollment notification for the next semester once you've renewed your subscription to the HOPE homeschool program!
In preparation for the new school year, HOPE is thrilled to announce registrations for its annual Service Expo dedicated to student volunteer opportunities on the same day as our Open House on Wednesday, August 27, from 2:30-3:30 pm at the Park Plaza.
Service is integral to our Vision Into Action (VIA) initiative, fostering growth and empathy in our students from Grades 9 to 10. The CAS Project is a required and significant component of the Creativity, Activity, Service (CAS) core element in the IB Program for Grades 11 and 12. It is designed to provide students with a meaningful, hands-on experience that extends beyond their academic studies.
We invite parents, organizations, ministries, and businesses to showcase their service and internship opportunities to our students to discover potential ways to serve beyond HOPE.
Parents, organizations, ministries, and businesses are invited to register as exhibitors. We are seeking service opportunities that align with our core values: Christ Culture, Transformational Learning, Distinctly international, and Servant-hearted community.
Please share this invitation and form with potential exhibitors--the Academic Office will contact all exhibitors and provide you with further details and guidelines.
We would like to share a few important updates regarding our IB Pathways and a new component we are introducing for Grade 11 and 12 students.
Firstly, the name of the former IB Lite pathway has now been updated to IB Courses. This change better reflects the nature of the pathway: students selecting IB subjects individually to meet their academic goals, without pursuing the full IB Diploma. The new name aligns with IB terminology and provides greater clarity for universities and external audiences. You can find a full, interactive overview of our High School program here.
Secondly, starting next year, we are introducing a weekly session called PACE for all upcoming Grade 11 and Grade 12 students. PACE is designed to help students:
Plan intentionally
Adjust thoughtfully
Connect meaningfully
Equip themselves with the skills and guidance needed to thrive in the IB and prepare for college or university.
PACE will support students in key areas such as IA/EE progress, academic writing and research, time management, university and career planning, and overall well-being.
Over the summer break, the campus is open for community use from 8 AM to 5 PM. We kindly ask all visitors to adhere to these campus guidelines, especially during break times and holidays. Please sign in when you arrive on campus and remember to bring your HOPE ID card or wear your parent lanyard to show the guards that you are part of the HOPE community.
An adult must supervise children at all times while on campus–this includes high school students. We define supervision as an adult being physically present, able to see and hear the student.
This document outlines the expected guidelines for proper campus usage.
Please note that Sahakom and C9 will not be available over the summer.
We are praying for more qualified Christian educators to join HOPE in any of the following vacancies. Do you know anyone? Share the website or poster today.
Do you know a family looking for a nurturing and vibrant school community? HOPE currently has a few open seats in primary for new students! If you know a family who would be a great fit, please refer them to our Admissions Office for more information.

Chaplain
Thank you HOPE International School. It was such a blessing to be welcomed back in a new way as an alumni becoming staff. These past two years have been so, so good. It is wonderful to get to be a part of what God is doing at HOPE, to see His faithfulness to this community. I am blessed to have had such a good team to work with in supporting the growth of these students.
To the staff: Thank you for the break time conversations, the testimonies shared, the messages given in chapel, and the friendship you gave myself and Bethany. To the parents: Thank you for raising such great children that make it such a blessing to be a chaplain here. To the students: Thank you for welcoming me, listening, asking good questions, leading worship, joining basketball, and hanging out with me. You all are a blessing to serve. I believe that I have served as Jesus led me to these past two years, and I look forward to hearing about how Jesus will work through Wayne in the chaplaincy role.
As I leave HOPE, I’d like to leave with this prayer: “that according to the riches of his glory he may grant you to be strengthened with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith—that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may have strength to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God. Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, to him be glory in the church and Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen.” - Ephesians 3:16-21
That's all!
Have a great summer break!
