Welcome back, HOPE! As we dive into this second half of the school year, we embrace the opportunity for a fresh start. Beyond our academic goals, we want to anchor ourselves in John 4:24, remembering that God calls us to walk in Spirit and in Truth. This semester, let’s strive not just for outward success, but for an inner sincerity that honors Him in everything we do.
We are ready for the "digital reset." We call it Low-Tech Week and it is designed to sharpen focus and deepen connections.
Secondary Students will begin our first day back with specialized AI training to help them use modern tools responsibly. From there, we will set the devices aside for the remainder of the week. By returning to hands-on, active learning, we aim to boost memory retention and spark the kind of vibrant classroom engagement that only happens when we look up from our screens.
Our goal is to help students have a healthy digital balance. It’s an invitation for our students to rediscover that the powerful learning happens through direct collaboration and intentional teaching. We look forward to seeing the energy and creativity next week, from January 12 to 16.
We are excited for Sports Day! Sports Day is a fantastic day in which we connect as a community and celebrate our students' strengths and also our House camaraderie. If you would like to get involved and help on the day, please contact Lorinda Wishart. See the Sports email coming up soon with all details.
The HOPE Parent Council is dedicated to fostering a strong sense of community. Parents are encouraged to join the HOPE Telegram Parent groups organized by grades to chat, connect, and build relationships with other parents. They are not official communication channels of the school, these chats are organized by the Parent Council for community purposes. Click on the following links and join the conversation.
We praise God for the arrival of Jade Davison, who has recently joined the HOPE family. Jade will be teaching Grade 4 while Peter Hwang is on furlough. Please also join us in welcoming Lydia Kuongny, our new After-School Childcare Attendant for staff students.
Additionally, we are happy to introduce Juhee Park as our part-time Health Officer. Juhee and Tanya Burchell will be sharing the role with the following schedule:
Mondays & Tuesdays: Tanya
Thursdays & Fridays: Juhee
Wednesdays: Alternating between Tanya and Juhee
Jade Davison
Lydia Kuongny
Juhee Park
We praise God for confirming the return of many of our current staff for the next academic year. Now, as we turn to fill open positions, we humbly ask our entire school family to lift this recruitment process in prayer. Pray that the Lord will send new, passionate staff members who are dedicated to serving Him through their work at HOPE. Please help us spread the word and invite qualified Christian friends and family to consider joining our ministry.
In preparation for our upcoming Sports Day, House shirts have been restocked and are now available for purchase. If you haven't secured yours yet, get one for $12 USD. We look forward to seeing our community in their team colors to celebrate our school tradition, Sports Day!
