A Message from the HOPE International School Board
On Thursday, October 1st, 2020, the HOPE School met for the first time this school year.
In today’s Board Meeting we were encouraged by Board Chair, Ann Greve, to reflect on Matthew 28:11-30 and to come to the Lord with our burdens and be yoked with Him as we walk into this year.
The Board acknowledged the contribution of Paul Hodges as the outgoing Board representative from Pioneers, and welcomed back Ruth Appleby to serve as the Pioneers Member Mission to the HOPE School Board. The Board also welcomed Emily Prichard as Parent Council representative. Melissa Mora, previous Parent Council representative, has been invited to remain on the Board and continues with the portfolio of Chairing the Policy Committee.
Key issues discussed included:
The effects of COVID as it related to the reopening of the school year, enrollment, staffing, and impact on school finances
A revised budget was presented, containing a deficit for this school year
A Health and Safety Committee has been formed and Ruth Appleby has been appointed as the Board representative to this committee
Work continues on the development of HOPE’s registration as a limited liability company, along with our registration with the Ministry of Education, and the future ownership of the Phnom Penh campus land
The Board and Management will be scheduling a stakeholder forum via Zoom within the next two weeks; date and time yet to be confirmed. We continue to value your prayers for the HOPE Board as we seek to outwork the mission and vision of HOPE School during these challenging times.
Please contact Director, Helen Blaxland (director@hope.edu.kh), or Board Chair, Ann Greve, if you have any queries at this time.

The ARC Team supports students to access the curriculum and helps students reach their full potential as learners. We support students, staff, and families. We are more than happy to help support you and your family. We understand it is difficult to set up in-person meetings right now as parents are not able to come onto campus, but please never hesitate to contact us.
"Excellence involves enjoying what you’re doing, feeling good about learning, and gaining confidence. On the other hand, perfectionism results in always finding mistakes, no matter how well you’re doing. Striving for excellence can be motivating, but striving for perfection is ultimately demoralizing." The image helps us understand this better. Be an example of someone who's not perfect. Help your children strive for excellence, not perfection.
