Transition from YEAR to GRADE
We are transitioning from using "Year" to "Grade". This may not seem like an important detail, but we discovered during our inspection and working with local officials that using "Grade" is preferred when talking about which class a student attends. For example, he/she is in Grade 6. To be consistent, we will start using "Grade", instead of "Year" in our documents and official communication.
We recognize that it will be a process!

Creative Fair in PP
Grade 9 Business Studies students are organising a Creative Fair on Wednesday 15th December in the last week of Semester 1. This is a fantastic opportunity for students to learn real world business skills and apply some of what they've learned already in Business Studies. We would greatly appreciate your input in the survey below for the products and events that we provide on the day. This event will be held both onsite for staff and students as well as online for the HOPE parents and community not able to come on campus. All proceeds will be going towards the school building purchase fund.
Thank you for your time,
Mrs Gina Polley & Grade 9 Business Studies students

From:2023 started just this school year. Our team is made up of six students in total; Alexa Borja (me), Anne Chung, Faye Hendrata, Yebin Song, John Yeap, and Yejun Jeong. This is our team's name because we are all from G11. We hope to help raise funds for different areas of the school that do not have enough funds for certain activities/types of equipment they need. We decided to do this as our CAS project because we wanted to give back to the school before we leave for university, as a way to say "thank you" for all the things HOPE has done for us over the past years/months. In addition to this, we also hope that what we are doing will better the community, and make it an even better learning environment for the younger students.

Well-Being Resources and Counseling Services
We are all feeling the weight and heaviness of this season.
Here are some resources to Cambodia and Thailand based centers that we recommend if you would like to seek some care:

A message from the ICT Department for Phnom Penh Campus
We are so pleased to have most students back on campus at Phnom Penh! With the change back to in-person learning, we need the school Chromebooks back though!
Primary families - please return your Chromebook to the ICT department, just upstairs from the school entry gate that primary uses. If you are still learning online and would like to hold on to a Chromebook for a little longer, please email ict@hope.edu.kh to let us know so we don't keep chasing you up. [Previous sentence can be removed if there are no primary students learning online]
Secondary families - with this year's move to BYOD, students should be bringing their own device to school. Remember, it needs to be compatible, secure and in good working order. Among other things, that means it needs to be able to last the whole day. Please remember to charge your device every night and bring it school fully charged. If you have borrowed a school Chromebook, please return it the ICT Department. If you need to keep using it (e.g. if you're still learning online or if you don't yet have your own device) please visit us or email ict@hope.edu.kh to request an extension of your current loan.
Have a great week!
