Session 1: Unpacking Pandemic Experiences
- Unpacking overwhelm
- Unpacking the impact of stress on the body
- Unpacking the depths of change
Session 2: Practical Tools for Processing Long-term Stress and Grief
- Recognize when you/your child are stressed
- Implement stress-busting plans
- Learn to process grief with your kids
Session 3: Relating to Your Passport Country
The experiences we have overseas change the relationships we have with our passport countries; this is especially true for children. In our final session, we will build on the tools from the previous two sessions to tackle questions such as:
- What do I do if my child hates my passport country?
- What do I do if my child doesn't want to return to Cambodia?
- How do I make visits to our passport country less stressful for everyone?
On Monday, February 22nd, Adam Ecklund (School Director), Sophal Phork (Facilities Supervisor) and Rachel Meyer (Front Office Supervisor) visited the tuktuk driver and his wife, mother and other relatives. He received medical care for multiple days at two hospitals in the city and he was discharged on Sunday to recuperate at home. He lives in a rental room near the Russian/Soviet hospital and is recovering from his injuries. HOPE is helping the family explore continued medical care as he has extensive wounds on his back and lower abdomen from the crash wreckage.
HOPE students made cards for the family with Mrs. J in art class (see picture) and the family was very touched by this care and concern of the HOPE community.
Their surviving daughter is 9 years old and is staying in the province with extended relatives while her parents focus on her father's recovery. Through the generous contributions of the HOPE community, we presented the family with a cash donation to help with their expenses. Before we left, they allowed us to pray for them and we explained that our community's response to this tragic accident is because of our call as Christians to care for those around us.
Donations are still being accepted through the offering box in the front office.
Continue to pray for:
the father's recovery from his injuries
a fair settlement with the truck company
the family as they grieve the death of their daughter
for receptive hearts as we continue to share the love of Christ through word and deed
Did you know that we can help provide visa extensions or enrollment letters for HOPE students?
Please use this form to request all visa extension and enrollment letters. The form helps to ensure we receive all the information needed to generate these letters. You can also find it on the Parents page (under Parent and Student Information) of the website.
Please allow for 3 business days when requesting.

Our Parents page on the website is meant to be a one-stop-shop for most information you would need. You can access that HERE, or by going to our website and clicking on "Parents".
