Beyond HOPE with John Posnett
Beyond HOPE is a new video series featuring Alumni as we reflect and honor 20 years of HOPE.
At HOPE, we consider anyone who has spent any amount of time at HOPE an Alumni - not just graduates.
Throughout the semester, we will share previously recorded stories of those who have come before us and God's faithfulness in their lives.
Upcoming Dates over the next THREE Weeks:
2-4 November (PP) School Production
7-9 November (Both) Water Festival Holiday - NO School
10-11 November (Both) ASEAN Summit - NO School
We are thrilled to announce that Jo Miller, Brent Willsmore, and David Ware will be returning to Cambodia to attend our 20th Anniversary Celebration Gala!
Tickets will be available for purchase the week after Water Festival holiday.
Minimum age for students to attend is Grade 6.
We look forward to celebrating together the Lord's faithfulness to HOPE over the last 20 years!
Last week, Grade 4/5 in Siem Reap went to the amazing Khmer Ceramics Centre for an Art field trip. They were taught about Cambodian clay, and how they source it. They have been studying about Greek Masks and used this opportunity to work with clay and make some wonderful masks together.
Each student made two masks each, and then they choose their favourite mask to fry in the large kiln at 1000°c.
All student got a certificate in clay mask making from them to keep, as well as the mask they created.
After two months of hard work and training every week, our HOPE MUN club headed to ISPP to participate in a 3-day conference! We were divided into the Human Rights Council, Security Council, Economic & Social Council, and General Assembly 1, 2, 3, and 4, representing China and DPRK. Each committee came up with resolutions containing a variety of different solutions to different ongoing world issues.
Over the course of three days of debate, with 15–32 countries, we were able to learn and experience controversial topics from various points of view. Representing China and the DPRK was a challenging experience for all of us, but we knew that the greater the challenge the more we would learn through it.
A special thanks to Mr. Andy and our parents for coming along with us throughout the journey, and to Mr. Eric for helping us through our registration process!
