Happy New Year, HOPE!

Let's gear up and ignite our engines because the journey ahead awaits us. This new semester offers a chance to start anew, either blazing new trails or fulfilling unfinished goals. However you envision this year unfolding, we encourage you to try your best and reach for the stars!

HIGHLIGHTS

New Year, New Progress:

upgrades at the gate of the campus

During the Christmas break, our school underwent several updates, including a renovation of the street front area. The main goal of this renovation was to create a safer pickup and drop-off area for our students and their families. This new functionality will significantly improve the safety of our community's commute. It is expected to be fully operational by the end of this month.

We appreciate your cooperation and understanding during this time.

The ONLY access point to the campus will be the SOCCER FIELD GATE. As much as possible, we encourage commuting by tuk-tuk or carpooling.

If you need to park, we recommend parking on the main street. Keep in mind that this may take extra time, so arrive at school on time.

Other campus upgrades include the renovation of the Sahakom Cafe area. The entry point has been tiled and transformed into a welcoming community space.

Furthermore, we are in the process of adding murals to the repainted cafeteria walls that reflect the spirit of our school's community!

40K is still running!

Over $15,000 has been raised in the 40K for 40 Years fundraiser! This community event challenged our board chair, Emily Prichard, to run beyond her limits- a total of 42 kilometers.

We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to all the members of our supportive community who gave generously to benefit HOPE students' scholarships. The fundraiser will continue until Emily Prichard's real birthday on January 7. You can donate via ABA to the school account, the donation box at the Front Office, or Trustbridge if you are abroad.

Sehye Park is going to Yale!

We are thrilled to announce that our very own Sehye Park, a Grade 10 student, has been awarded a prestigious scholarship to attend the Yale Young Global Scholars (YYGS) program this summer!

This highly selective program welcomes high school students from around the world to explore diverse academic interests and engage in challenging intellectual pursuits on the beautiful Yale University campus.

Sehye's exceptional academic performance, coupled with her demonstrated leadership and passion for Politics, Law, and Economics, is the sector of the session she is taking at Yale! She is an exceptional Model of United Nations (MUN) Club member at HOPE.

Please join us in congratulating Sehye on this well-deserved achievement! We are excited to see her flourish at YYGS and return with even more knowledge, inspiration, and a global perspective to share with our community.

ACADEMICS

Language Program Survey

A Language Program Survey was sent to parents via email before the break; HOPE would like to gather parent input regarding the language options offered at our school for students in Grade 6 to Grade 12. Your feedback will play a crucial role in shaping the future language offerings. If you haven't filled out the form, you can do it here

Extracurricular Clubs

Some extracurricular clubs are open for the first part of this semester. If you missed the deadlines or would like to run an Extracurricular Club, contact Elizabeth Shin

Please keep in your prayers our MUN club students who are departing to South Korea tomorrow!

ANNOUNCEMENTS

As we start the year, we seek God’s guidance in a week of prayer and fasting.

The first week of the semester will emphasize fasting in prayer for the week with prayer stations around campus and a prayer space during lunch, which parents are welcome to join.

On Friday, we will have extra times of devotion, and we will conclude the week with a Worship Night on Friday, January 12th, at 4 p.m. More details to come; for now, save the date.
