Abide in HOPE: Our focus for the year

Welcome to the 2024-2025 school year! The start of a new academic year often brings mixed emotions, but the promise of fresh beginnings is undeniably exciting. Reconnecting with friends, immersing ourselves in a wonderful community, and embarking on new adventures together fills our lives with joy.

However, initial enthusiasm always peaks high, but sustaining that happiness throughout the year requires some deeper roots. The theme of the year is about abiding by the love of God – a joy that comes from someone greater than ourselves. Let us discover this enduring joy together at HOPE, rooted in our connection with God and each other.

HIGHLIGHTS

Back to School!

Get ready! School starts on Wednesday, August 7th!

As we kick off the new school year, we invite everyone to join us for a Commissioning service on Tuesday, August 6th at 4:30 p.m. After the service, enjoy delicious Pasta Meatballs and Garlic Bread for adults and kids, served by C9. Seyhe Park at Yale!

'It was an experience full of culture shocks and fun!’ said Seyhe Park, a Grade 10 HOPE student who just finished the Yale Young Global Scholars (YYGS) program.

The program brings together high school stars from all over the world to learn and have fun at the amazing Yale University. Seyhe's exceptional academic performance and demonstrated leadership qualities, particularly in her area of interest – Politics, Law, and Economics – made her a strong candidate for the YYGS program. Check out her awesome photos and let’s congratulate her!

Summer renovation projects

Some exciting renovations occurred over the summer break! Our library has been transformed with a new layout that makes it easier to find and enjoy your books. The space feels more open and inviting thanks to increased natural light. Our science labs have also been updated with new countertops. Additionally, we've refreshed the look of our main hall and other areas with fresh paint and touch-ups. And that's not all – exciting upgrades are coming to the secondary court!

Secondary Orientation Days

Secondary students (Grades 6-12) will participate in an Orientation Program on the first day of school and continue for half of Thursday. This year, we will delve deeper into HOPE's four core values and explore how they align with our student learning outcomes.

Middle and high school students will attend teacher-led workshops to gain a deeper understanding of these concepts. We will also initiate buddy groups on the second day and provide a special orientation for incoming sixth graders as they transition to middle school.

As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Abide in my love. If you keep my commandments, you will abide in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commandments and abide in his love. These things I have spoken to you, that my joy may be in you, and that your joy may be full.

John 15:9-11
