A Stronger, Connected Community
School is in full swing and everyone is on board! The first weeks of the school year are all about reconnection as a community. We are grateful for the opportunity to learn and grow together in Christ. Our school is built on prayer, unity, and obedience to Jesus. This shared faith will guide us to take on a new academic year packed with adventures while strengthening our bonds as a community. Let's embrace the year ahead with enthusiasm and a heart focused on God's purpose for our lives.
HIGHLIGHTS
Connected community
Last week's commissioning service was a powerful reminder of our shared mission. As a community, we came together in prayer to lift up the new year.
The return of students filled the campus with joy and new inspiration. Orientation days provided an opportunity for students to reconnect and prepare for the academic year ahead. Secondary students particularly had the chance to reflect on the HOPE values by going through different sessions and stations around the campus.
Significant changes have been made to the assembly schedule. A whole-school worship gathering now kicks off the week every Monday at 8 am. Primary students continue to enjoy their weekly Primary Assembly every Friday at 2 pm. Parents are welcome at both the Whole School Assembly and Primary Assembly. Secondary students are engaging in meaningful discussions and sharing personal testimonies through Chapel time and Discussion groups held on two different days during the pastoral period.
Another highlight was the kick-off of the first Buddy groups of the year! Secondary students facilitated creative ways to engage with the Primary students. These times of connection and community building significantly impact the character of our students as we aim to develop Christlikeness and find ways to keep abiding by the love of God.
ACADEMICS
Our Open House - Meet the Teacher is coming soon!
We are looking forward to seeing our community of parents and teachers engaging in conversations about the classroom, subjects, and other aspects of school on Wednesday, August 28 at 4:00 pm.
An optional dinner will be offered from C9. If you would like to pre-order, please place your order here.
Service Expo for students
On the same day, but a bit earlier, we would like to run a Service Expo dedicated to our students. We believe in the power of service to foster growth and empathy in our students. Therefore, we promote service throughout the school and expect all students, especially those in secondary, to serve the school and community as a part of our Vision Into Action (VIA) initiative. To support this, parents, organizations, ministries, and businesses are invited to share their service and internship opportunities with our students and the wider HOPE community.
We are aiming to have an expo around Park Plaza with different exhibitors. If you are interested in participating or know someone who is, please sign up on the following form. The Academic Office will contact exhibitors and confirm and give you further details.

Please note that these chats are a parent-initiated community forum and not an official school communication channel.

Parent volunteers
We believe a strong school community is built on partnerships between home and school. Parents’ involvement is essential to creating a supportive learning environment for our students. Every year, HOPE is greatly enriched by the dedication of parent volunteers who generously share their time, talents, and strength.
We invite you to join us in partnering for our children's success. There are different ways to get involved, from classroom support to sports and club leading. All volunteers undergo a thorough screening and onboarding process, aligned with our Safeguarding policy.

Motorcycle Safety Policy
Starting Monday, August 19th, all students who ride a motorcycle to school must display a valid Moto Pass sticker on their vehicle. This sticker indicates parental consent for motorcycle transportation.
Please complete this form to request a Moto Pass sticker to be picked up at the Academic Office.
Homeschool sign-up
Last Tuesday, we welcomed homeschool families back from the break and shared updates about ways they can be involved on campus this year. For those who are new to HOPE, we offer the library after school, involvement in clubs and activities, and other events by invitation throughout the year to support the education of homeschooling families here in Cambodia. Due to the increased number of students playing sports at HOPE, spaces are limited on teams. The Athletic Director will email the homeschool families should there be available spaces.
If you are aware of someone interested in enrolling in the homeschool program, please refer them to the new homeschool webpage.
