Harvest, Knowledge and Leading
There are times of the year when there is a harvest of knowledge and leadership opportunities. We are witnessing a taste of accomplishment and we celebrate it! From the fields of MUN and Social Studies, to the fruitful gardens of IGCSE success, our community continually bears the fruit of hard work and dedication.
Inside this edition, you will find ways to be part of this great community harvest and reap the sweetness of hard work and dedication.
HIGHLIGHTS
HOPE MUN Delegates at ISPP
Our Model of United Nations delegates represented Paraguay, Guyana, and Laos at the recent ISPP MUN Conference. This event provided our students with a platform to develop their diplomatic skills, engage in insightful debates, and develop a deeper understanding of global issues.
We are proud of our students and believe that these experiences will empower them to become outstanding global citizens and Christian servant leaders.
Our MUN is guided by their teachers, Megan Holmes and Andy Staunton, and they will be preparing for two more conferences this school year, one in Phnom Penh and one overseas.
IGCSE certificates 🎉
Our Grade 11 students received their IGCSE certificates last Monday. We are proud of their achievements and look forward to seeing them thrive in their next steps. Congratulations, Class of 2026!
First Aid Training Day
On Tuesday, HOPE hosted a First Aid Training day led by a seasoned British nurse with nursing experience in Cambodia. The event brought together 19 participants, including HOPE and partner organization staff, as well as high school students. The day was filled with informative sessions, hands-on practice, engaging discussions, and of course, delicious brownies!
ACADEMICS
Buddy Groups!
We recently concluded our buddy group activities for the semester, and we're thrilled to witness the positive impact on our students. Buddy groups foster leadership, care, and empathy, strengthening the bonds within our student body. During Pastoral time, students engage in playful and creative activities, making these encounters sweet and special. Look at these photos!
A Medieval Taste of History
Grade 7 students took a journey back to the Middle Ages, exploring the societal norms and practices of the time. By preparing games, clothes, homes, weapons, books, games, and food, students gained a hands-on understanding of the social studies concepts they were learning. See these fun pictures!

Jon is joining HOPE!
Jon Pawley, a future math educator from Taylor University in the US, is joining us at HOPE for the remainder of the semester. Jon grew up in Cambodia while his parents were doing missions in Ratanakiri. He will be sharing his knowledge and passion for mathematics with our middle school students.
'While growing in Ratanakiri, I saw how important it is to missionary families that their children recieve a quality education and develop into young men and women of Christian character. I also witnessed first hand in my own life and in the lives of my friends that there are many challenges to life as a TCK. My motivation to teach after I graduate is twofold: to partner with missions work by teaching the children of missionaries, and to help students (especially TCKs) grow in their education and in their character.'
Fun Facts:
1) I played rugby 7's at my university for 3 years.
2) My older brother attended HOPE for preschool, and my younger brother attended for kindergarten.
3) My favorite animal is a slug.
