Our faith teaches us that true strength is not just about physical progress or academic achievement; it's about the resilience of our spirit.
Mock exams, sports days, and tournaments teach lessons in perseverance and overcoming challenges. These experiences, like the trials faced by several Bible characters, refine us and teach us to rely on God's strength, finding courage in the face of adversity.
Through prayer and perseverance, we can remain solid, stronger, and wiser in God.
We are looking forward to holding our annual Sports Day next Friday the 31st of January. The school day is slightly shortened and the event will be from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm. We look forward to all students from Preschool to Grade 12 participating, unless they are unwell. If your son/daughter is injured, we have many opportunities for them to assist on the day.
The day will run as follows:
8:00 am: Check in with their Pastoral/Class Teacher (Primary Rooms for Preschool - Grade 5 and Secondary Court for Grade 6-12’s)
8:10am: Head to the field for welcome, prayer, house chants and first events
9:00 - 11:30 am: Rotation of events for the whole school (C9 & Snack Shack will be open from 9am)
11:30 am: Relays
12 noon: Lunch for purchase from C9
12:50 pm: House areas in the Park Plaza for results & awards
1:00 pm: Dismissal - Primary students dismissed from classrooms, Secondary students dismissed from Park Plaza
If you would like to support the day, consider donating food that can be sold in the Snack Shack. All money raised will be used to support HOPE. Food donations can be brought to the Primary building after 7:40 am on the day of the event. If you are an approved HOPE volunteer and would like to help practically on the day, please email to our Athletic Director at lorinda.wishart@hope.edu.kh.
Pacific Hills Christian College and St Andrews Christian College from Australia visited HOPE today!
These student volunteers spent their time reading with HOPE students in the library and building a new sandpit next to the playground. We thank them for their time and contributions!
Thank you for your patience as the school calendar for next year is being finalized. The official school calendar is typically released by March each year. Many families are arranging their travel for the school holiday now, so while the full school calendar is not ready, we do want to announce the first day of school. HOPE anticipates that the first day of school for 2025 will be Thursday, August 7th.
These special times showcase the musical and artistic talents of our HOPE students, providing them with an opportunity to share their unique abilities.
While these performances are primarily for our students, parents are invited to attend and enjoy the talent on display. We have scheduled several Lunchtime Live Performances on the school calendar. If your child would like to schedule a performance, please contact Mr. Honeybun.
We are so thankful for student-teacher Kathleen Hanselmann for the amazing time she had on campus during her time at HOPE. Her last day at HOPE is Monday. She helped in the Academic Resource Center (ARC), the library, was an assistant high school volleyball coach, and even joined in with some Spanish classes. She also co-taught Health and Wellbeing in Grades 6, 9, and 10. Kathleen will continue her university studies in Theology and Education in Germany.
We welcome Rachel Heironimus to our faculty! Rachel is currently teaching Grade 9B English while immersing herself in IGCSE and IB English curriculum by collaborating with Mrs. Gina Polley in Grades 10 and 11. She is also instructing Grade 9B and 10B Health and Wellbeing.
We are delighted to have Emily Prichard continue her valuable contributions as the Grade 8 English teacher.
Lourdes Donguines has joined our team in the Academic Resource Center (ARC) to support High School students this semester.
Taara Portela is now teaching Grade 6 Health and Wellbeing this semester.
We are pleased to have Brooke Joppich join us as a short-term volunteer for the next month, assisting Mr. Ennio with his Spanish classes.
Week 5 - 2 Chron. 7:14
All current parents have received a re-enrollment email to their registered HOPE email address. Please take the time to complete the re-enrollment form before Monday, February 4. This will ensure your child's formal enrollment for the upcoming academic year. If your family is planning to withdraw or be on furlough, please complete the appropriate forms accordingly. If you need assistance or clarification, contact our Admissions Office at admissions@hope.edu.kh.
The recent increase in mosquito activity and a decline in air quality are factors that HOPE are constantly monitoring as we prioritize the health and well-being of our students. HOPE is committed to providing a safe and healthy learning environment.
The campus is being treated for mosquitoes on weekends due to the chemicals involved. Unfortunately, HOPE is surrounded by an environment that breeds mosquitoes and we are doing our best to rid the campus of them.
If you notice your child is not feeling well, please let the school know through SEQTA Engage or the Academic Office. Be guided by our Health Card and reach the Nurses if you need any clarification at nurse@hope.edu.kh
See the updated C9 Menu for February. This menu will be updated on our website at the end of the month.
We are praying for more qualified Christian educators to join HOPE in any of the following vacancies. Do you know anyone? Share the website or poster right away!
