The power of unity

The past two weeks we have experienced a strong sense of unity in community. While Sports Day brought the energy and teamwork, Prayer and Fasting Week followed with quiet reflection and spiritual unity. The beauty found in unity is powerful because it serves as a testament of the goodness of God and His Kingdom, echoing Jesus’ own prayer: "May they experience such perfect unity that the world will know that you sent me and that you love them as much as you love me." John 17:18

HIGHLIGHTS

Prayer and Fasting Week

We have finished our Prayer and Fasting Week; it was a powerful experience for our school community. Students and staff members journeyed through six prayer stations around campus, engaging in intercession, repentance, worship, and connection with God. We are also grateful for the parents and community members who joined us, filling our school with prayers.

This week served as a reminder of the importance of prayer in our lives and as a school community. Together, we can continue to lift our voices in prayer, seeking guidance, wisdom, and blessings for our students, families, and school.

‘Today We Steal the Trophy!’ Verner claimed it indeed!

Sports Day is one of HOPE’s strongest traditions. According to an astute student who checked a decade of HOPE Yearbooks, the last time Verner won Sports Day was in 2013-2014. It was also exciting to see Cormack on the rise! While Verner won overall and won the House Chant, Ellison & Hammond took out the best dressed with some staff and parents joining in too.

Thank you to the Parent Council for your support of the Snack Shack which raised money for HOPE. Last year this money went to Model United Nations and this year we will be asking the Student Council how they would like to spend the $756.90 that was raised.

Many thanks to the House Captains this year who again went above and beyond to encourage their teams. Cormack’s House Captains re-wrote their chant, Hammond’s also made changes, whilst Verner and Ellison spent hours making minion goggles and yoda ears for their teams!

A special thank you to our Facilities  ICT departments for the large role they play in supporting Sports Day.

CAMPUS

Parent University: Technology

HOPE will host parent sessions covering a variety of important topics in different areas of life. We aim to partner with HOPE parents to broaden understanding in key areas and to present insights in how to support their children's education.

This first session will tackle technology related to digital citizenship, including a conversation on protection and time limits for screen use in mobile apps, websites, and gaming. The session on Thursday, February 20 will start promptly at 1:30 pm in the Hall and it is open to the HOPE Community.

Playgroup times

Calling all parents and toddlers not yet enrolled in school! Michaela Fischbacher and Crystal McMaster, who are parents in the HOPE community, have initiated a weekly playgroup on Wednesdays! Join us for fun, fellowship, and play.

Each session begins with free play on the playground for the first 15 minutes, then engaging activities like playdough, paints, and blocks, followed by a circle time with songs and stories. This playgroup is designed to help future students become comfortable on campus, make friends, and ease their transition to Preschool. It's also a wonderful opportunity for stay-at-home parents to connect and build community.

New books in the library

Over the Christmas break, the library has added new books and they are ready to be checked out. There are a number of non-fiction books for younger readers, as well as some fun new picture books. These new picture books have diverse protagonists, celebrating the rich cultures represented in our school, including stories featuring characters from Korea, China, the Philippines, and more. Visit the library and find your next favorite read!

Parent Lanyards

Please wear your Parent Lanyard visibly around your neck with the ID facing forward whenever you are on campus. This helps us ensure a safe environment for everyone. Request a visitor lanyard at the Front Office if you forget your Parent Lanyard. We appreciate your cooperation.
