Welcome back everyone, to a new school year! As we embark on this exciting journey together, we are thrilled to root our efforts in the powerful theme for the year: 'In Spirit and Truth,' drawn from John 4. This verse calls us to an authentic and heartfelt approach in all we do, from our studies to our interactions, reminding us that true learning and growth flourish when we engage with both our minds and our spirits. We pray for a year filled with discovery, understanding, and a deepening of faith for everyone.
We are excited to kick-off the year in corporate worship and prayer. Our Commissioning Service will be held this Wednesday, August 6, at 4:00 PM in the Secondary Court. Following the service, we will share a meal; kindly note that you may bring your packed dinner or pre-order from C9 in the form below. We look forward to gathering together as a community.
The timetable has been adjusted slightly to give teachers and students time to move around the campus. Adding a passing period while keeping our break and lunch times has necessitated a slightly earlier starting time: school will now start for Secondary students at 7:50am. Primary students will start at 7:55am, with the exception of Monday when our whole school assembly will begin at 7:50am.
Students arriving after 7:50 for Secondary and 7:55 for Primary, will be considered late and need to obtain a late pass from the Front Office before going to class. There is no longer a five-minute grace period for late slips.
Students will use the passing period to go to the bathroom, fill water bottles, and drop off/pick up books from their lockers, so they can come to class prepared to engage with learning.
School now finishes for Secondary at 2:35 (or 3:35 if a high school student has Period 7). Primary still ends at 2:30 and the Primary hallway will open at 2:25.
Middle School sports training will be from 2:45 - 4:15pm, and High School sports training from 3:45 - 5:15pm.
In preparation for the new school year, HOPE is thrilled to announce registrations for its annual Service Expo dedicated to student volunteer opportunities on the same day as our Open House on Wednesday, August 27, from 2:30-3:30 pm at the Park Plaza.
Service is integral to our Vision Into Action (VIA) initiative, fostering growth and empathy in our students from Grades 9 to 10. The CAS Project is a required and significant component of the Creativity, Activity, Service (CAS) core element in the IB Program for Grades 11 and 12. It is designed to provide students with a meaningful, hands-on experience that extends beyond their academic studies.
We invite parents, organizations, ministries, and businesses to showcase their service and internship opportunities to our students to discover potential ways to serve beyond HOPE.
Parents, organizations, ministries, and businesses are invited to register as exhibitors. We are seeking service opportunities that align with our core values: Christ Culture, Transformational Learning, Distinctly International, and Servant-Hearted Community.
Please share this invitation and form with potential exhibitors--the Academic Office will contact all exhibitors and provide you with further details and guidelines.
Week 1 - John 4:23
Week 2 - Proverbs 2:4-5
Week 3 - Proverbs 3:5-6
We would like to inform you that our school calendar this year has been updated, and it is live on our website!
The Campus Calendar and Sports Calendar are now merged into one convenient place. This means you will find all important dates and events in a single view.
You can now explore all Semester 1 dates directly on the live calendar for a complete overview of the entire school year, including holidays and semester start and end dates.
For those who prefer a quick glance at key academic dates, a general calendar PDF outlining terms, holidays, and semester beginnings/ends is also available for download on the website.
As an added reminder of upcoming activities, you can also find these dates conveniently available on HOPE Connect.
We have made some campus improvements over the summer as part of your capital fees. Major painting work has been completed on the Secondary buildings, door repair, and office renovations. We are grateful to the maintenance team for maintaining our campus to such a high standard of excellence.
